Embark on a soul-enriching journey with MBRS Tour and Travels as we bring you the spiritual essence of Prayagraj Sangam, leaving you with memories that transcend the ordinary.
Upon reaching Prayagraj station, you will be greeted by our tour representative who will then accompany you for a city tour of Prayagraj. The first on our sightseeing agenda is the Triveni Sangam. This is the confluence point of three rivers, Ganga, Yamuna, and Saraswati, each maintaining its distinct identity in terms of the unique color of the waters. Triveni Sangam serves as the venue for Kumbh Mela, held once every 12 years. Take a holy dip at the Triveni Sangam to cleanse yourself of mortal sins and experience a sense of blessing.
After Triveni Sangam, we visit the holy Shivkoti Mahadev Temple or Someshwar Mahadev Temple; a Lord Shiva temple along the banks of River Yamuna. The temple enshrines the Lord in the form of Ekadasa Rudra.
Next, we visit the famous Allahabad Fort. This historical fort was initially constructed by Emperor Ashoka but later renovated by Emperor Akbar. Zanana Palace, Saraswati Koop, lofty watchtowers, and the Ashokan Pillar, dating back to the 3rd century BCE, are some of the major highlights of this magnificent fort.
After the Allahabad Fort, we visit Khusro Bagh. This tranquil and beautifully walled garden is home to the mausoleums of three famous personalities: Khusrau Mirza, Nithar Begum (his daughter), and Shah Begum (his wife). The three tombs beautifully exhibit the excellence of Mughal architecture.
Next, we visit Anand Bhavan, which served as the residence of the Nehru family during their times. It houses a Jawahar Planetarium within its campus, making it a chief highlight of this site.
Following this, we visit the All Saints Cathedral. Built by the British and consecrated in 1887, this cathedral showcases brilliant Gothic revival architecture from the 13th century.
Next on our itinerary is the picturesque Alfred Park. This beautiful park is adorned with scented flower plants, various shrubs, and herbs, creating a complete green setting. Legend has it that this gorgeous park was named after Chandrashekhar Azad, one of the great freedom fighters who sacrificed his life at this spot while fighting for the independence of our country. It’s an ideal place to sit, relax, and stretch your sore, tired muscles.
Soon after, you will be transferred to the railway station, where our representative bids you farewell as you depart for your onward journey. This concludes your one-day city tour of Prayagraj.
