Adi Kailash Yatra Tour

Overview

Who hasn’t heard of Adi Kailash? It stands as one of the most iconic and spiritually significant locations in Hinduism, serving as the residence of Lord Shiva along with Devi Parvati and their sons, Ganesh and Kartikeya. Also known as Chota Kailash or Little Kailash, this sacred place is nestled in the Kumaon Himalayas of the Pithoragarh District in Uttarakhand, standing tall at approximately 6310 feet above sea level. Day 1

Our pilgrimage to the sacred abode of Lord Shiva commences from the historic city of Ayodhya. You will be warmly welcomed by our team at the designated meeting point and proceed to board an AC Volvo Bus or AC Train, departing from Ayodhya around 10.00 PM – 10.30 PM. This night journey is strategically planned to allow for a comfortable overnight travel on the initial leg of the trip. It provides a conducive opportunity to unwind, especially for those arriving in Ayodhya from other locations, and mentally prepare for the forthcoming spiritual odyssey.

Day 2

The second day marks the arrival of the travel group at the Kathgodam Railway station/bus stand in the early morning—a pivotal gateway to the Kumaon region and the starting point for the sacred Adi Kailash Yatra. Upon arrival, take some time to freshen up and enjoy a hearty breakfast before proceeding to the next destination.

On the second day, the journey leads to the picturesque Patal Bhubaneswar, offering not just a mere transfer to another location but a spiritual passage through some of Hinduism’s most sacred sites. En route, visit the Neem Karoli Baba temple at Kainchi Dham, Golu Devta Mandir in Almora, Jageshwar Dham, and Haat Kalika Mata Mandir. Upon reaching Patal Bhubaneswar, settle into your hotel, have a meal, rest, and prepare for the upcoming days of the pilgrimage.

The subsequent day kicks off with a wholesome breakfast at your Patal Bhubaneswar hotel, followed by a visit to the renowned cave temple located in the area. Post the visit, the journey resumes towards Adi Kailash.

Day 3

The next leg takes the travel party to Dharchula, a scenic town nestled between the awe-inspiring Himalayan ranges. Serving as one of the last towns in India near the border with Nepal, Dharchula requires obtaining an Inner Line Permit and a basic fitness certificate. Rest assured, our team will assist you every step of the way, ensuring a hassle-free experience. Following these formalities, enjoy an overnight stay and dinner in Dharchula.

Day 4

The fourth day unfolds with a venture to Kalapani through Pangla, Mangti, Budi Village, Chialekh, and the captivating Garbyang. Along the way, soak in the beauty of Napalchu, Gunji, the Annapurna range, waterfalls, and scenic rivers. Upon reaching Kalapani, visit the Kali Mata Mandir to offer prayers to the Devi and spend the night camping amidst the mountains.

Day 5

The subsequent day, proceed to the scenic Nabhi Dhang to behold the iconic Om Parvat. Optionally, visit the Old Lipu Pass to catch a distant view of Mount Kailash (subject to permission from authorities). After absorbing these breathtaking sights, return to the Kalapani camp for breakfast, then continue the journey to the historical town of Kuti, named after Kunti from the Mahabharata. En route, pass by landmarks such as Vyas Gufa & Sheshnag Parvat and the village of Gunji. Enjoy an overnight stay in Kuti, experiencing a traditional house over 250 years old and exploring the Old Pandava Fort and the local village.

Day 6

Day 6 holds significance as you wake up early, have breakfast, and prepare for the drive to Adi Kailash. Make a stop at Gauri Kund, and from there, either walk or ride a horse to the sacred sites. Spend time in prayer, meditation, or simply revel in the peace of these holy places. The drive to Jolingkong will take approximately one and a half hours. Visit the viewpoint to see Adi Kailash and explore the Parvati Sarovar for a holy dip, a walk around the lake, and prayers at the Shiva temple. After a full day at Adi Kailash, return for an overnight stay in Kuti or Gunji.

Day 7

Pithoragarh is surrounded by nature and offers a peaceful setting to relax after the day’s journey. You will check into your hotel, have dinner, and go to sleep for the next day’s journey. Alternatively, you can also enjoy the beautiful night sights at Pithoragarh, something that we would recommend.

Day 8

Day 8 will see you wake up early in the morning with an aim to get back to the city of Haldwani by the late afternoon. However, do not think of this day as just a rush to get back to the base. En route, we will stop at spiritual sites like Tanakpur and Mayavati Ashram/Vivekananda Ashram at Lohaghat. You will enjoy a serene environment in these places and a brief rest as well.

Day 9
